2. Camera and router do not locate each other during the WPS quick connect

If router and camera do not locate each other during the first WPS quick connect, the issue is often with too many other WLAN devices within range. Please try again and note the following:

  • Reduce the space between the devices so that they can locate each other faster.
  • Make sure that the WLAN during the WPS quick connect is not overloaded (e.g. streaming/live television etc.)
  • Make sure that the camera is switched into the WPS mode after operating the WPS feeler (LED display).
  • If the devices still do not locate each other after several attempts, please conduct a manual commissioning, e.g. via app for your smartphone or PC.

3. Increasing range with repeater / access point / powerline

The usage of repeaters / access points is common and is unproblematic in most cases. However, please note that with every additional extender, the data bandwidth is being reduced. With each additional repeater / access point between camera and router, you should reduce bitrate, frame rate or resolution roughly by half.

4. Streaming connection is being interrupted

Often, the cause for an unexpected disconnection is not easy to find as many factors can be responsible.
Please check if:

  1. The connection to the device had become worse. (Other WLAN devices within range?)
  2. There was a change of environment that influences the WLAN (e.g. a new neighbour whose WLAN works within the same frequency range).
  3. The weaker connection is existent to only one particular camera or if there is a general connection problem.
  4. Does it happen more often that there is a disconnection, please reduce the bitrate, resolution and/or refresh rate of the camera.

5. App does not show/locate live image after a restart of the App

Close the app completely and conduct a restart.
Press the “HOME” button for approx. 2 seconds and wipe the app from the view.

6. Info on range

The WLAN range of a device is strongly dependent on the environmental conditions.
If you are not satisfied with the range, please check at first:

  1. The quality of connection inside the router between router and camera. Solution: Switch a repeater / access point to the transmission path to increase the quality of connection.
  2. Are there any thick walls, metal doors/windows, reinforced concrete, copper plates or the like in the transmission line between camera and router? Solution: If necessary, you might need to overthink the position of the camera.
  3. Are there many other WLAN devices within the range? Solution: Minimise the number of WLAN devices in the immediate environment to ensure a continuous transmission (streaming). If there are too many WLAN devices within range, they block one another. The consequences are: Minimised range (long loading, no image or only juddery), only small range of the WLAN connection, disconnection.
  4. Do you operate several streaming devices (TV, cameras, media server, etc.)? Solution: The network might be overloaded. Please check that via the router.

7. Choosing the right WLAN channel within the router settings

The choice of the WLAN channel should be made in order to assure the least possible disturbances through other WLAN devices / environmental conditions are existent.
For an optimisation of the settings, we recommend to:

  1. Download the app or WIFI analyser for your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Check the conditions in your living area (inside the living space and at the spots where the camera(s) are to be mounted). This way, you can check which channels you should avoid to ensure a best possible performance.

8. Mobile access and internet accessibility of the cameras

To activate/deactivate the F2F function (remote access) please proceed as follows:

  • Setup -> network -> TCP/IP -> P2P
  • Activate/deactivate the function by putting/removing the tick

To get a smooth image and to reach a high resolution on your mobile device outside of your home network, you need an internet connection with a sufficient upload rate. Most providers advertise with a high download rate (e.g. 120Mbit/s). The upload rate often lies with about 5-10 % of that rate.
Get in contact with your provider and check whether the upload rate is sufficiently high.
We recommend a minimal bitrate setting of 1024 Kbit/s (1Mbit/s) with HD resolution – this conforms an internet connection of approx. 16 Mbit/s.
You want to stream more than one camera at the same time? Then please reduce the bitrate, resolution and frame rate of the camera.

9. Connection cannot be established

If the camera is connected to your network but no P2P is being established, please check following settings:

  • Is the P2P function in the camera activated?
  • Can the camera establish a connection to the P2P server?

If both are good, please switch the DNS to:
DNS: 8.8.8.8
Alternative DNS: 8.8.4.4
